The overall base width of the Dutton Lainson Winch # DL14730 that you referenced is 4-3/4 inches. The height from the bottom of the base to the top of the drum is 6-53/64 inches. And the length front to back is 6-1/4 inches, or 8-27/32 inches including the drum.

I would like to put a U-Clamp around the long end of the brace. I’m mounting to a 2” metal aluminum tongue. Do the holes on the 4 3/4” width of the winch allow for that U-bolt?
