When installing this shower drain does the rubber gasket go on the top side of the shower pan or the bottom side

The rubber gasket attaches on the top side of the shower pan, to assemble the RV Shower Drain with Strainer # 3729495-211-022 start by inserting the drain body into the drain pipe from the topside, then attach the rubber gasket, lock nut, slip nut, and the plastic washer.
