Does the Gasket Go Above or Below the Shower Drain?

Question:

On the LaSalle Bristol shower drain, does the gasket go on top of the shower pan or under. I have a fiber glass pan. The previous drain was leaking at the gasket installed on top of pan. I am considering using proflex instead of the gasket. Plumbers puddy does not work. Any advice would be helpful.

The gasket goes on top of the shower pan when you install the LaSalle Bristol RV Shower Drain w/ Grid Strainer item # 34465PR227G. You can use silicone caulk like item # 0160297 around the base when you install the drain to help prevent leaks.
