I saw Yakima Crossbar Pads for Aero Crossbars - 30" Long - Qty 2 - Y07413 and that you can mount the kayak directly to the crossbars!!! For this, what kind of tie downs do you recommend?

For a kayak carrier that fits the channel of your Thule Evo Wingbar crossbars, I would look into the Lockrack Adjustable XL Watersport Carrier # LR54FR. You do not need any other hardware or adapters. This carrier is very versatile and does not require any tie-down straps because of the rubberized ratcheting hooks that will keep the kayak secured.
