We have not had a chance to install the Buyers Products Door Check and Hold # 337BM2395AA11 you were looking at, but I would be happy to go over the installation process.
The section of the unit that has the spring will need to get mounted to the frame of the door, and the arm without the spring gets mounted to the door itself. The correct mounting hardware will really come down to the material of your door so there is no specific recommendation other than using washers to best distribute the weight.
