Can a 235-85-16 be put on a trailer that has 235-80-16 tires

There's really only about 3/4" difference between the diameter of an ST235/80r16 and an ST235/85r16 like the Karrier ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range F # AM10501, so the difference is negligible. You'll want to make sure you don't already have wheel clearance issues on your trailer but in most cases you should be able to swap without issue.
