We need to first determine what type of pin box you currently have on your Sandpiper 5th Wheel Trailer, you will need to locate the part number of the pin box. This number is usually located somewhere on the pin box itself, either on a sticker or stamped into the king pin. If you are unable to find this information, you can also contact the trailer manufacturer with your VIN and they should be able to provide you with this or if you find a serial number on the pin box and it's a Lippert we can give them it and they'll be able to tell us.

The part # RP85FR fits Lippert 1621, 1621HD, and 0719 pin boxes and the part # RP94716-61301 fits the Lippert 0115, 1116 and 1716.

You will have to go with a sliding hitch to allow the trailer to make tight turns. For a trailer 8 feet wide the only bed length that's going to allow 90 degree turns without a slider is a stationary hitch. That being said you have two options.…
