Question:

Hello, Im looking at purchasing a above the bed fifth wheel hitch kit, part number BWRVK2402. My question is can I use my Husky fifth wheel hitch with it or do I need to buy a new hitch as well? Thank you. 2025 F250 FX4, short bed

Hey Doug. So long as your Husky 5th wheel hitch isn't three decades old you shouldn't have any issues attaching it to the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails item # BWRVK2402. Most 5th wheel hitches for the last 20 years have used the same industry standard spacing to attach to rails. Now if you're looking for an excuse to upgrade hitches just let me know where it says Add Comment and I'll go back and edit this.

The B&W item # BWRVK2402 has been confirmed to fit both bed lengths of the 2025 Ford F-250. The brackets will install in preexisting holes in your truck's frame. The 5th wheel rails are compatible with Husky, B&W, Curt, Demco, Reese, Pullrite, Anderson, and other hitch brands. The rails are powder coated to protect against corrosion.

To make towing with a 5th wheel trailer easier, I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness item # C57010. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. You won't have to get down underneath your bumper to connect your trailer. There's some included inserts to protect against corrosion with your aluminum bed.

What kind of trailer are you pulling and what model Husky hitch do you have? If you could leave this information where it says Add Comment, I would be more than happy to confirm your hitch will work. Feel free to throw in any additional questions as well.

I linked a couple of installation videos below so you can see how to get these parts setup.

The trailer is a 31' Forrest River, not sure on the hitch model. I've loaned it to a couple guys, it worked fine on their rails. I'm confident enough that I'm going to install your rails. If the hitch doesn't fit, I guess I'll be buying a B&W. Lol. Thanks again

@DougS It'll work great with the B&W item # BWRVK2402 then. That sounds like a awesome backup plan! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I recently purchased and installed the same rail kit in my F-350. After hearing numerous stories from friends who tow with short-bed trucks, I learned from their experiences that a sliding B&W can be extremely helpful in extremely tight situations. That’s the option we chose. I saw it as a small investment considering the peace of mind it gave me.
