Will Furrion Chill Replace Airxcel Coleman-Mach 8 Rooftop AC

Question:

Hi Folks: I have a 2019 Jayco North Point 387RDFS. I ordered this fifth wheel with three AC units. All three were able to at the same time on 50A. My main AC unit quit working in January. AirXcel sent a replacement under warranty in May, but it was dead on arrival. Now were in August and AirXcel has still not replaced the unit. The unit I need to replace is Airxcel - Model 47004B679 - Serial No 219107695 - 15 MACH 8 Heat Pump. I dont need the heat pump. This is a ducted unit. I would rather get a good reliable AC unit that will fit my existing opening, wiring, ducting, thermostat, etc. Can you tell me if the Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner Item # FR42PV will fulfill my needs? Are there other items that I will need to adapt this unit to fit my existing system? If so, can you give me links to all other needed hardware, adapters, kits, etc? Finally, is this the best unit to replace my current 15 MACH 8, or do you folks carry a unit that would be better and more suited as a replacement? Thanks very much.

Well I'm certainly sorry to hear about the troubles you are having with your Airxcel unit, but you made a really nice choice to replace it with the Furrion Chill. I appreciate all the specific info you provided, so I double-checked with the manufacturer for you, and found the unit you asked about will absolutely replace a Airxcel Coleman-Mach 8, including your model 47004B679. The correct unit to do so is the following:

- Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup - 15,000 Btu # FR42PV

This will fit your existing opening, and there is nothing else you will need in order to complete the set up; the Chill comes with the adapter needed that will allow you to use you existing thermostat.

In regards to if the Furrion Chill # FR42PV is the best option to replace it, it definitely is. This unit is also a more complete package than other options, with the included adapter for the wiring as well as a built-in start capacitor, which is something that is only offered separately with other ACs. It also has the most Btu's for an AC at 15,000, which is great for cooling larger areas like you have in your '19 North Point.
