Question:
Afternoon, I have a 1989 F250 5.8 L Lariat XLT 4x4 manual pickup. Is there a receiver you could recommend that would allow me to keep my spare tire or is it necessary to remove it in order to mount a receiver?

I would be happy to help!
For your 1989 Ford F-250 Lariat XLT4WD with the 5.8L V8 I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # 14001. The Curt hitches are made right here in the USA so the quality is as great as you would expect from a USA made product, and it will allow you to retain your spare tire.
You may need to slightly reposition the spare to get it to fit perfectly, but you can keep it.
If your truck does not already have a vehicle wiring harness you will also need the # 118316 which is a confirmed fit for your truck.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
