Recommended Locking Pins For Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ball Mount C45901

Updated 05/16/2024 | Published 07/24/2021

Question:

Are there any compatible diameter and length, as they will need to be longer than a standard locking pin that attaches the entire hitch the the vehicle locking pins to also secure the vertical adjustable tongue sold as a set or even 1 as that is probably all you will need to secure it from theft, made by Curt or other? And, heaven bless all of those thieves out there, otherwise I wouldn’t be asking this question ??

There sure is!

The correct locking pins for the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount - 5-1/4" Rise, 6-3/4" Drop - 6,000 lbs # C45901 is the Curt Lock Set # C23556.

This set includes one lock to lock the ball mount section to the channel, and one lock to lock the coupler to your trailer hitch receiver.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.

Hi Samuel, Suppose I want to use a different trailer hitch lock than the one included in the kit you referenced. Would I just be able to use any 4-1/4" span locking pin? Or even better, 2 of them to replace both fo the ball-mount connection pins on C45901? Thanks!

@Kodiak As long as the locking pit you're using to secure the ball has the same span, you'll be fine. Did you have a specific lock in mind?

@MikeL - I couldn't find any particular locks that would provide 2 locking pins so I went ahead ang do C23556, thanks anyhow! Figured others might want the same so still worth the ask.

@Kodiak Infinite Rule offers the # 34061076-D which has the necessary span, but they're sold individually.
