Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Level: 5-1/4" Rise or 6-3/4" Drop

Keeping your trailer level makes a big difference in how it tows. The Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount lets you dial in the perfect height with a rise up to 5-1/4" or a drop up to 6-3/4". The shank can be flipped to switch between rise and drop, and the channel adjusts in 1" increments so you can fine-tune your setup for different trailers.

Built for Real Towing Loads: 6,000 lbs Weight Capacity

When you’re hauling gear, you don’t want to second-guess your hitch. This mount is rated for 6,000 lbs gross towing weight, giving you solid performance for everyday pulls. It fits a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening and accepts a trailer ball with a 1" diameter shank. The steel shank keeps things rigid under load, while the included pin and clip hold it securely in place.

Quiet, Reliable Performance: Built-In Anti-Rattle

Nobody likes hearing a hitch clunking down the road. The built-in anti-rattle feature helps keep the connection tight and quiet while towing. That means less noise and smoother performance whether you’re on pavement or gravel. You get steady towing without the extra movement that can shake your setup loose over time.

Made to Last: Durable Carbide Powder Coat Finish

Towing gear takes a beating from road grime, salt, and weather. This mount’s carbide powder coat finish protects the steel shank from corrosion and wear so it keeps looking good after plenty of miles. It’s a setup made to handle routine use without showing early signs of rust or flaking paint.

Flexible Setup Options: Works with Common Curt Accessories

The adjustable channel design gives you room to customize. It works with Curt replacement dual-sided hitch balls like item # C45912 and can be secured with the Curt Lock Set # C23556 for added peace of mind. Whether you need different ball sizes or just extra security, this mount makes it easy to build out a setup that fits your routine.

Video Transcript for What to Know About the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ball Mount, has a 6,000 pound weight capacity. Now this is designed to mount on trailer hitches that have a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. You notice this is an adjustable channel mount, which will allow for precise trailer leveling. There's six rows of holes here and each one is one inch increment between the rows, so you can move it up wherever you need it.It is equipped with a one inch diameter hole to accept a trailer ball. It has a shank diameter with one inch right here on the mount. Now this shank can also be flipped for maximum rise and a maximum drop.

Right now we have it in the max position, so here's the maximum drop. That would be measured from the top of the shank, to the top of the ball platform. You could put a ruler on that, maximum drop would be six and three quarter inches. If you turned it around, put it in the rise position, and measure top of the shank, top of the ball mount, you'd be measuring maximum rise of five and a quarter inches.Does offer two hitch pinholes, right here on the side. It'll provide either 11 inch or 12 inch shank length, and that measurement is from the center of the ball hold to the center of the hitch pinhole, you can see 11 inches to the first hole, and then 12 inches to the back hole.

Does also offer right down here if you can see, there's a rubber dampener, that you can move from either there or move it up. But that dampener's there to eliminate possible rattle between this channel mount and the ball mount platform when it's all put together. Now it is protected by a nice highly durable carbide powder coat finish. The pins and clips you can see for the channel mount are all included. And it also includes the hitch pin and clip to hold this mount to the hitch. Weight capacity again on this is 6,000 pounds.

Ton weight capacity is 600 pounds. That should do it for the review on the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ball Mount with a 6,000 pound weight capacity.

I am very impressed with the quality of this product. I wanted the ability to adjust the height because I pull farm equipment between farms with my pickup I also wanted the heavy 6000 lb rating for safety. I have showed it to several other people and they are all impressed. I look forward to using it.

by:

Love it, it made it to the Canada border region, Glacier Nat'l Park, and many many miles since!

by:

I use it 5 days a week. Good tow hitch

by:

I have placed several orders with the folks here at etrailer.com. I've always had great service with very good product choice at competitive prices. I will continue to use them.

by:

Heavy adjustable hitch. Works well. Easy to adjust.

by:

Easy to use, well built, no noise or clunking during travel, works great for swapping between lifted gmc truck and wife’s yukon.

by:

Nice hitch. Easy to adjust and level the truck/trailer. Free shipping and arrived a day early!

by:

Ball mount works fine, although there is “clunking” when starting/stopping.

by:

seems too be built very well. it was a little sloppy in the receiver. worse than my old one but I think over all it will be a great hitch for what I need.

by:

@Hiroshi Thanks for sharing! Gotta use it one of these days lol. Come back anytime you need anything!

by:

Nice welds, more than heavy enough for my trailer. Quick adjustment and I like that the length from coupler pin to the ball is a little bit longer than what I had so the trailer is not as close to the bumper on tight turns. Good product

by:

This product gives me several options for adjusting the trailer tongue height.
It does the job I need it to do.

Continues to perform well, absolutely no complaints!

by:

Excellent bang for the buck in comparison to anything else I looked at. Seems well made and is as advertised. Would recommend for someone that doesn’t pull a trailer everyday but needs different hitch heights for different trailers/vehicles when they do.

by:

I love the way it can adjust to the trailer I am pulling. It handles the trailer and load great. It's heavy duty.

by:

Everything arrived on time and without damage. Installation took minutes thanks to the online video instructions, my wife and I are looking forward to many adventures this summer with our new camper. Many thanks to the folks at etrailer who made the hitch, wiring and brake installation painless on our tow vehicle.

by:

I helped a fellow co worker on a good budget hitch for his new truck to tow his rpod. I pushed him to an adjustable hitch for the adjustable feature. I have more hitches than you can imagine lol even with having an my main as a adjustable hitch. If you’re on a budget and really only use one size ball this is a great hitch and does not rattle.

by:

Nicole was amazing and the product worked perfect.

by:

Perfect drop hitch. Good brand name, good capacity, all around perfect

by:

Adjusts to exactly the height I needed

by:

This is a great ball mount. Fits the Class III hitch on my Explorer perfectly. Works well with my locking anti-rattle pin. However, there is a little noise from the dual pins used for the adjustment. I called etrailer’s customer service to inquire about remedies for this and was told that there is an Allen key adjustment that needs to be tightened to reduce the noise. I have yet to tighten it but other than that, the ball mount has done a great job.

by:

Appears to be well made. Arrived as promised, packed well.
Easy installation. I haven’t pulled one of my loaded trailers with it yet. I really dislike reviews from people that admit they haven’t installed or used a product. I will update this review aftertowing a couple hundred miles. In closing, I have been purchasing from etrailer for several years, great company, knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend etrailer. They never gave me poor advice or sold me a bad product.

New GMC AT4 required a new ball mount and this one fit all the requirements for the truck and new multi-pro tailgate. With the AT4, I needed more drop and a longer shank (12" hole) for the tailgate to not hit my trailer jack stand; plus, the multiple drop adjustments will make changing trailers a snap. Great product from Curt and great service from etrailer (as usual).

It does only have a 3/4" rise but there's not many options for that long of a ball mount. According to the review video we have of the Brophy # RTB1 ball platform those holes used to vertically adjust this piece are 2" apart on center. It kind of sounds like you have a shank for a weight distribution system as the 1-1/4" height measurement tends to be a standard with those.
