The typical wiring for a 4-Way round electrical connector are:

White - Ground Return
Green - Right Turn and Brake Light
Yellow/Red - Left Turn and Brake Light
Brown - Tail Light

There are two ways for you to determine the functionality for each of your wires:
You can either trace each wire to determine which lamp it feeds, or, you can use a 12 volt automotive battery and apply power to each circuit to determine its function. Ground the negative post to the battery to the trailer frame and attach a wire to the positive terminal. Use this wire to apply power to each circuit to determine which light illuminates.

You will need to test the connector on the vehicle and make sure the trailer connector is wired the same way. At this point you will need a circuit tester to continue your process. One such tester we have is, part # PTW2993. I have also attached a video that shows basic circuit testing for vehicle wiring.

I have attached a picture of the Pollock part # PK11402 with each entry point identified. The photo that I attached is the typical set up for a 4-way round connector. You can use it for reference, but the most important thing is that the pins on the trailer side connector match the pins on the vehicle side connector.

You will also want to check the ground connections for the vehicle side and trailer side connectors. If both connectors are wired correctly, a poor ground could keep your trailer lights from functioning properly.
