Assuming that your 7-way was tied into the brake output circuit at the factory connector on the driver's side frame rail, all you'll need to install the Redarc # RED44FR Tow Pro Elite is the Ford # RED87FR wiring harness that will plug into the connector under the dash. The connector is located above and to the right of the OBDII connector, above where the driver's right knee would be, as shown in the linked install video. The video shows a different controller being installed, but you'll still find the video helpful. I'll also link to a video that explains the features of the controller and how it works.
The Tow-Pro Elite is a dual-mode controller, which means that it can work both as a proportional and a time-delayed controller (what Redarc refers to as User Controlled Mode). To be honest with you, unless you'll be towing in rough off-road conditions, you'll never need the user controlled mode. You'll be better off going with the less expensive Tow-Pro Liberty, part # RED24FR which installs in the same manner and operates proportionally only. There's no reason to pay extra for a feature you likely won't ever use.
