Question:
I turn fan on it works and vent opens, but when try and shut it off nothing happens it stays running and vent will not close. I have a 2nd unit and tried swapping wall control and it still stays on. had to plug fuse to unit and removed unit from ceiling and had to unplug the fan from the printed circuit board to get it to stop. I believe it to be the circuit board on the fan is the problem. It is model number 4951KS

The issue your MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent 4951KS is having is a tell tale sign of a bad circuit board.
What I recommend is first completely unplugging the circuit board, as it has a built in lock that gets engaged under certain conditions and makes it where the fan and lid will get stuck either on or off. Unplugging it for a few minutes and the reinstalling it resets the lock.
If this does not fix the issue you will need to replace the circuit board using the # MA10A04751KS.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
