I reached out to my contact at Hydrastar and he confirmed that the OEM trailer brake controller you have in your 2021 Ram 1500 is compatible with the HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness - 1,600 psi # HS381-9067 you were looking at.

With that said in our experience the OEM controllers are not the most reliable when it comes to electric over hydraulic actuators and I recommend going with an aftermarket controller that is compatible with EOH actuators.

There would be no harm in trying with the OEM controller first to see how you like it, and then changing controllers if needed.

If you decide to go with an aftermarket controller I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it is an extremely reliable controller that works perfectly with EOH actuators.

You can install the # 90195 in your truck using the Tekonsha Plug In Wiring Adapter # 3024-P, though you will need to take your truck into the dealer and have it flashed to disable the OEM controller.
