Question:
I have installed on my 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage ES a Class 1 trailer Hitch Curt, #11394. Based on the product specifications and charge recommendations, the weight supported by the hitchs tongue shouldnt exceed 100 lbs. I am interested in buying the Thule T2 Pro, which weighs 50 lbs. They make one that fits a 1 1/4inch hithc receiver, so I would not need to add an adaptor. My bike weighs about 22 lbs, and my girlfriends bike is more around 31 lbs, which makes a total of 103 lbs. I would be using the rack mostly for only my bike, but with both bikes from time to time. Is the 3 lb excess that big of a deal? Should Iconsider another rack? Or is the excess weight so small that it wouldnT be something to worry about? Thank you for your help

Expert Reply:
The Thule T2 PRO XTR bike rack, part # TH23JV is fully compatible with Class I or II hitches with a 1-1/4 inch square receiver tube. The Curt # C11394 hitch you're using has a 200 lb weight capacity, so the 50 lb weight of the rack plus the 53 lb combined weight of the bikes you'll be carrying will not present any problem. You'll still have plenty of cushion, weight capacity-wise.
I'll link to a product demonstration video for the Thule T2 PRO XTR bike rack.
