Question:

The inside controls won’t work either on my smart arm awning and the outside pad doesn’t work either

In that the inside and outside controls are not working on your Lippert/Solera # LC517517 Awning, that leads me to belived that the controller board is not working. I have attached directions for resetting the control board.

If after hard resetting the controller you are still having issues you're going to want to remove the controller and check it and the wiring harness for moisture or corrosion. If you do find moisture or corrosion you'll need to replace the controller and wiring harness.
