Question:
We have a Barrett cattle trailer with Dexter 7000lb axles on it. I want to use some 17.5inch wheels that have 5/8inch holes but the hubs have 9/16inch studs. What can i do to make it work?

The only option that may possibly allow you to install your 17-1/2" wheels for 5/8" studs fit on your Barrett Cattle Trailer with Dexter 7000lb axle with hubs that have 9/16" studs would be replacing the wheel studs.
To do this you would need to remove one of the studs and measure the diameter of the spines, length of the splines, and overall length of the stud.
For example if the spline diameter is .69" and the spline length is roughly 1" then the Replacement Trailer Hub Wheel Stud, Drive-In, 5/8" x 3-1/8" (Qty 4) # RG03-120 could be used as a replacement. If your wheel studs have different dimensions just let me know.
Keep in mind that some 17-1/2" wheels are hub piloted meaning the diameter of the hub will need to exactly match the pilot hole of the wheel as that is what centers the wheel.
I included a video of the # RG03-120 for you to take a look at.
