Back-Spacing of Americana Modular Wheel w/ -0.5 Offset

Updated 04/05/2022 | Published 04/04/2022

Question:

Trying to replace my trailer tires and wheel with the following wheel you sell: Americana Modular Wheel w/ -0.5 Offset - 17-1/2inch x 6-3/4inch Rim - 8 on 6-1/2 - Silver/Item # AM22461 The offset says -0.5. In laymans terms, if you put a measuring tape from the inside of that rim to the outside edge, how much back space is there? Right now, my current rim has a 4.5 inch back space. Thanks!

A negative offset like the offset on the Americana Modular Wheel w/ -0.5 Offset - 17-1/2" x 6-3/4" Rim - 8 on 6-1/2 - Silver # AM22461 reduces the back-spacing. Since this is a 6-3/4" wide rim that means the back-spacing is 3-7/8" since it has a -0.5" offset. I'm assuming you are looking for hub-piloted wheels which use flange nuts. These wheels have a pilot diameter of 4.76" and use a 5/8"-18 flange nut.

For tires that fit these wheels we have the Westlake 215/75R17.5 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range H # LHWL097. These have a maximum load of 4,805 lbs on a single tire at 123 psi. The have a speed rating of J for 62 mph and come with a 5-year warranty. They also come with the Lionshead roadside assistance for 2 years.
