I have a great alternative option for you. Unfortunately, we here at etrailer do not recommend using a frame-mounted bike rack like the Yakima Ridgeback 4 # Y02458 if you have a carbon fiber road bike. The reason why is because racks that attach at the bike's frame create a possibility that your frame could be cracked or damaged by the torque of the vehicle.
For a safe alternative for a carbon fiber bike, a hitch rack is the safest option. For a hitch rack for a single carbon fiber bike, I recommend the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 1 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10007. If you are looking for the same 4-bike capacity as the Ridgeback, I recommend the Inno Tire Hold 4 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Tilting # INH142. The great thing about the MonoRail Solo and the Tire Hold 4 is that they both secure the bikes at the wheels instead of securing them at the frame. This will give you the peace of mind when transporting your carbon fiber bike on the rack. There are no additional precautions you need to take when attaching a carbon fiber bike to the MonoRail Solo or the Tire Hold 4.
For both of the hitch-mounted racks, your vehicle needs a hitch receiver. For a recommendation on a hitch receiver that will work for you, I would be happy to assist you if you provide the year, make, and model of vehicle.
