Can the Demco DM15349-52 be Mounted in an Underslung Configuration?

Can this coupler be mounted on the bottom side of the frame to create an underslung mount to work with 9 inch trailer frame and WD platform?

I spoke to Demco, and unfortunately the Coupler # DM15349-52 cannot be mounted to the bottom of a frame. They went on to say that there would not be enough surface area for it to handle the weight when welded or bolted on.

That being said, the Ram 5-Position Adjustable Channel Bracket # CTA-CB6 is also rated up to 14,000 pounds and can be mounted however you need it to be. This would be a fully welded on part and would most likely need a few gussets added for structural integrity.
