Recommended In-Bed Towing Solution for 2016 Ram 2500 with Ramboxes- Gooseneck or 5th Wheel

Question:

I’m looking to tow a 5th Wheel or maybe a Gooseneck Camper. Looking for the best route to go that won’t break the bank. 2016 Ram 2500 HD with Rambox

Because you've got Ramboxes, the best bet would be to go the gooseneck route because in order to use a 5th wheel hitch you would need to also change the pin box on your trailer or specifically choose a trailer with a rotating pin box. A standard 5th wheel pin box would have the pivot point below the bed rails, so you'd end up damaging the rails; a rotating pin box would bring the pivot point above the bed rails.

With that said, the gooseneck hitch I recommend using in your 2016 Ram 2500 is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # BWGNRK1384. This will give you a gooseneck hitch and mounting brackets and I really like that this has the ball release in the wheel well instead of the bed. This means you don't have to climb in to take out or flip over the gooseneck ball, which is required with the other available hitches.

I've linked some review and installation videos of this for you to check out.
