Can a used Edge Evolution CTS3 tuner be transferred to a different vehicle?

I’m looking to buy a Edge CTS2 Programmer used will this work on my 05 ram 2500 or are they only set to one vehicle?

The Edge Diesel Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner - 5" Color Touch Screen # EP36YR that you mentioned is confirmed to fit your 2005 Ram 2500 as long as it has the 5.9 diesel.

Since the one you are looking at is used, you will want to make sure that the vehicle it was taken off of has the factory tune on it, because if it still has the Edge tune then it will not also allow you to tune your truck. This is so that users cannot steal the Edge tune and use it on multiple vehicles for the price of one tuner. So as long as the tuner is not linked to the previous vehicle and your truck has the 5.9 diesel then it will work.

If your truck has any other engine, then let me know and I will find a tuner suitable for you.

I have a 2020 2500 hd Chevrolet duramax and I have the cts3 monitor and tune what would happen if I took the tune off the this truck and put it on my new one will that work? My new truck is a 2020 gmc at4 2500hd duramax

@KalebM Hey Kaleb, Edge says the Edge Insight CTS3 # EP54FR is compatible with both of your trucks, so that won't be an issue. You'll need to return your Silverado back to stock tune and erase the vehicle data from the tuner so that the tuner can be used on your other truck. Go to the tuner's Tech Support menu and follow this: Force Restore - This option will program the vehicle with a previously saved stock file. It is also useful for recovering problematic ECUs. Vehicle Reset - Erases all vehicle specific information from the device. Registry Reset - Erase all cached vehicle information from the device.

@AndrewN can i use my cts3 edge as a monitor No tune on my 2018 6.6 duramax if i bought it for a 2011 5.3 without erasing tunes

@AuzziS Auzzi, yes, it looks like the monitor that the Edge Insight CTS3 Comprehensive Gauge Display # EP54FR uses is the same one that the Edge Pulsar L5P Inline Tuner # EP29YR for your 2018 Duramax uses, so you should be good.

Am I able to buy a used CTS3 evolution and use it in a different truck just as an insight? Not looking to use the tubes

@NateR If it is "unmarried" from the vehicle it was used on, then yes you can use it on a different truck. This particular model is used on the 2003-2012 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins, if you have something else then I'll need to verify compatibility or find a different unit for you.
