Question:

I have a Road Warrior 420 RW with a Lippert 1620 SHD pin box. This pin box has a 21K capacity limitation. I like the Reese Goosebox RP94720 but am concerned that it is not up to the weight. I have looked at your Gen-Y products and 1. want to be sure that they fit the Lippert 1621 SHD and 2. would like your advice as to which model a. GY38FR or b. GY66FR would be more suitable. I would certainly want the auto-latch version. Thank you,

According to Lippert the only difference between the 1621 HD and 1621 SHD pin box is the HD has an 18,000 lb capacity and the SHD has a 21,000lb capacity. Since your current pin box is a 1621 SHD I would not recommend the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Item # RP85FR as it only has a capacity of 20,000 lbs.

Both, Item # GY38FR and Item # GY66FR, have a 25,000 lb capacity so either would be suitable as far as weight limitations. Both have auto latches and will replace a 1621 SHD pin box. The only difference between the two is GY66FR has a 5,500 lb pin weight capacity and the GY38FR has a 4,500 lb so it would really be up to how much pin weight your trailer has or if you plan on changing to a trailer with a higher pin weight.
