Yes, your 3000 series head will work with the newer hitches. The bases were the only parts that changed when they upgraded their hitches for the 20,000lb ratings they currently have.

Just to confirm the Replacement Base # BWRVB3710 is a 20,000lb base that is designed to fit the new 2020+ Chevrolet/GMC 2500/3500 OEM puck system. There is also a 25,000lb Replacement Base # BWRVB3715 if you require a higher weight rating. Both of these bases use the same head # BWRVC3006 which is what you currently have.

Hey Richard, Yes, you can keep the head and swap it onto the GM base #BWRVB3710. If your new Sierra has a bed less than 8' long you'll want to go with the slider base #BWRVB3775 for more turning clearance.
