Do the Slider Rods of B&W BWRVK3270 Patriot 5th Wheel Hitch Need to Be Lubricated

Question:

I have a B W Patriot 18,000 K. I know that there is a grease fitting for the pin at the head of the hitch for left to right tilt and that you also lift the head off to lube the rubber isolation pads with white lithium grease. What I would like to know is what if any lubricant is used on the slider rods and what kind? Any and all info will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

B&W recommends using a thin layer of white lithium grease like # L11354 to lubricate the slider rods, but you'll want to clean the rods first. A degreaser like # BE64VR would work well for cleaning the rods.
