For your 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD 8' bed without the OEM prep kit, I recommend using the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # C16411-204. The custom fit under bed brackets use factory holes so that you aren't drilling into the frame and their finish closely resembles the undercoating on your truck.

Don't forget the In Bed Wiring Harness # 41157 to move a 2nd 7-way receptacle into your truck bed so that you are not stretching your wiring over your tailgate and bedsides.

If you still need a hitch the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16130 is a excellent hitch to accompany the rails. It uses 2 locking jaws to wrap around the pin box and includes a lube plate to help your hitch stay quiet and last.
