Could etrailer Hitch Lock e98881 Tow 7,500 lb Trailer

Question:

I am looking at your locking hitch pins. Are they all capable of handling the same load capacity? Say 7500 lbs?

Our hitch locks like the etrailer # e98881 would easily handle the weight of a 7,500 lb trailer. In general they aren't weight rated though as they don't end up carrying the weight like you might think they do. The tongue weight of the trailer presses so hard in the hitch that it ends up creating enough friction to be what pulls the trailer and not the hitch pin.
