How To Tow a Trailer Using a 1999 Ford F-350 With Truck Bed Camper That Overhangs Rear Hitch

Question:

I put a cab over camper on my truck and the rear end is sticking out 4 feet from my receiver that I have that was put on by the factory. What can I do to resolve this problem? I’m going to only tow a sand rail With only a couple hundred pounds maximum tongue weight. It’s more likely to be only 100 pounds.

I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is that there is an option that was made for exactly this same situation. The bad news is that it's not exactly cost effective. This entails using the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension part # TLE1548 which also requires the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLF1002 that is a fit for a 1999 Ford F-350.

The longest trailer hitch extender we offer for a single 2" hitch is the Brophy Hitch Extender with Step part # ST18 which measures 18" long.
