Finding Helper Springs for a Jeep Wrangler with Rock Krawler 3.5inch X Suspension Lift Kit
Updated 01/03/2013 | Published 01/02/2013 >
Question:
I have a 2006 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited with a Rock Krawler 3.5inch X factor short arm lift. Will this part number work? I dont want to pull the suspension apart to install spacers. The rear bump stops are centered, I dont think they were changed when the lift was installed. It look like they would hit the air valve when installed. I dont see any install instructions anywhere to see if I can use these. Thanks,

The Firestone Coil-Rite Rear Axle Air Helper Springs, part # F4157, are intended for use with the stock suspension components in the 2006 Wrangler Unlimited. I called my contact at Firestone and he confirmed that these air springs are not compatible with your aftermarket suspension kit. I have included the installation instructions for this product just in case you do wish to review them.
I checked for helper spring kits from other manufacturers such as Timbren and Super Springs that might be compatible with your year and model Wrangler and with your lifted suspension, but all those I found are also intended for use with stock suspension components and/or require removal of the rear springs in order to be installed.
My contact at Super Springs indicated that if you can provide some specific information about the rear coil springs, he will check for compatibility with one of their products. What I need to know are the following measurements from your rear springs: 1) space between turns of the rear coils with the vehicle sitting;
2) space between turns of the coils with rear end lifted off the ground; 3) outside diameter of the rear springs; 4) thickness of the steel coil material. With this information their team may be able to find a helper spring that will be compatible with your suspension kit.
