Will Air Bags Fit on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with 2 Inch Suspension Lift

Updated 03/22/2013 | Published 03/21/2013

Question:

I am now running my stock rear springs with 2inch spring spacers front and rear and 1inch Body lift. This lets me clear 33inch tires. Also custom bumper and spare tire carrier. All this extra weight and age is lowering the rear end and more so when towing. 1. Can the air bag bring jeep up to level? 2. Would I need to remove the 2inch spacers or leave in to make the jeep level. 3. Will this make the jeep ride stiffer? 4. How tough is the bag material? I do some offroading but more driving on highways.

You would have to have the vehicle return to stock height in order to use the Coil-Rite system, # F4157, because of the extra space from the lift. There are no spacers for the Coil-Rite systems to adapter to the lift on the vehicle.

What you may want to look at is a Timbren system, # TJFTJ, and added a couple of spacers per side, # A25723-90AH00, which is a 1 inch spacer. For 2 inches on each side you would need 4 total. The Timbren system will work to level the vehicle, especially when under load and will not affect the unloaded ride quality. These springs are very tough and will handle the occasional off road journey. I have linked the instructions for you.
