Heavy loads can make the rear of your vehicle sag and throw off your balance. These Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs sit between the coils of your rear suspension and add extra support where it’s needed. The microcellular polyurethane foam inside each insert compresses progressively—the more weight you apply, the firmer they become—so your truck stays level and stable without harshness.
When factory coils bottom out, every bump can feel like a jolt. The inner core of microcellular polyurethane foam cushions impacts between each coil to absorb shock and vibration. That means fewer jolts through the seat and better comfort on long drives with heavy loads or trailers.

These coil spring spacers are extremely easy & quick to install. Happy to find these for my 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis.
For me it's dont seem to make a big difference. Maybe if i double the kit I will fill it. But it hold nicely in place, they are in place about a year now and the tirap do the job. It's easy to install. But for the price I will figure to replace the coil spring by stronger one.
These are great for increasing the stability of my car when I'm towing my boat
These work really well to keep the back end of my Subaru Outback from dropping when towing my 5x10 trailer.
Installed this on my 2013 Diesel Cayenne as I put larger tires on it and when hauling trailers it bottomed out. It still does from time to time, but it has been drastically improved.
Just installed them on my ‘11 Subaru Outback and they appear to function well over 1 short trip. I was initially concerned as following the instructions demanded I trim almost 4” off of them, but a tech at the manufacturer stated it would be fine. I did and installation was a breeze
The Sumo Springs installed easily and definitely hold up the back of the vehicle better and also firmed up the ride , now I want them for the front also. Great product!
Under most conditions the springs do not compress enough to be needed, but pulling our pop up camper with our Kia Soul, they smooth the ride and keep us level
After a year I don't even think of them being there. When not towing my feels normal while I know I'm getting assistance when I'm hooked up to my trailer.

Coil SumoSprings for a 2008 Honda Fit Sport. I ordered the correct springs based on etrailer's website and when it came time to install them, we discovered they were too big. I called etrailer customer service and was fortunate to be connected to Natalie L. Natalie was patient and after a couple of calls, found the springs that work for my vehicle. Natalie updated the website to reflect the accurate part number. Natalie, thank you for making the return process painless. Your customer service was outstanding, Natalie. As an aside, it's difficult finding and keeping good employees. I'd do what I could to keep Natalie.
The replacement springs have been installed and working as expected.
The SumoSprings are just whet we needed. Just that little bit of extra space to pull our UTV trailer without bottoming out.
Ordered for my 2014 VW Touareg TDI that I used to pull a single axle travel trailer. Has a slight squat and was hoping these would help it out. Unfortunately, they did absolutely nothing. Measured before and after at the center line of the axle to the lip of the fender with and without the trailer. Would not recommend for a Touareg. Complete waste of $[XX]. Would rather have put that money toward an air suspension but the reviews seemed promising.
We purchased these for our Outback about a year ago. They definitely improved the ride when towing our tear drop trailer, especially over the “washboard” sections of I80 in PA, and some of the logging roads in northern Maine. Our mechanic complimented us on the choice as well. Not needing a total suspension upgrade, these helper-springs are a great alternative for an improved ride for small vehicle lite/medium load road hauling. We’ve made several purchases from e-trailer – these hit the mark like everything else.

This product installs easily and quickly and performs as claimed. Provided just enough additional compressive loading resistance in conjunction with the rear struts to prevent bottoming out while towing a lightweight pop up camper. Quick fix for folks hauling something with 100 pounds or less of tongue weight.
Tips: 1" overlap worked best on my Subaru. SumoSpring elastomer cut easily and accurately with a band saw. Knife works but the elastomer is slippery and the cut is less than accurate.
As you push the zip ties through their holes put an index finger under the hole on the inside and direct the end of the zip tie upwards to make it easy to retrieve. Make zip ties snug but not so tight they distort the geometry of the elastomer.
We have a 2021 Subaru Accent which can tow max 5k lbs. Our Grand Design Imagine AIM is 3.7k dry weight. My son recommended the SumoSprings product to assist in managing the effect of weight distribution on the car. It had an immediate, positive impact of carrying the tongue weight preventing the cars front end from raising and affecting the safety of steering. Highly recommend if you have a similar situation of max tow weight and fully loaded weight are borderline and affecting safe driving!!
The installation was quick and easy. I did remove the tire to ease in the installation, it just made it easier for me. It took longer to stage the pictures for the review than install them. I took a measurement I think I gained a 1/4 to 1/2 inch in lift and doesn’t seem so floaty
No noticeable difference in reducing the sag from trailer weight. Spend your money on the Airlift 6000-series airbags. They're manually adjustable since they don't require a compressor and most local Airlift reps can install them easily.
Hold on the spring assist are amazing. They stiff in the suspension, and allow the vehicle to hug the road, even more efficiently than it already did. The feature I like the Best while towing our camper is it cuts down on the gravity effect when taking turns so that it doesn’t feel like the trailer took the turn harder than the car. I would not recommend these spring assist if you are looking to increase the towing capacity of your vehicle., they are wonderful for stabilizing the suspension when under tow. When driving without a trailer, the suspension doesn’t stiffen by a great deal so that you don’t feel like you’re driving a pick up truck. Still allowing for a comfortable drive. I would recommend if you are towing more than 50% of your vehicles tow capacity or if you’re starting to feel a little sag in your springs.
I got the spring coil measure tool from a different W-site, but ordered it from E-Trailer because of the high customer service ratings.
These were purchased not for towing but for reducing the sway and bounce of a '24 Toyota RAV4. It works. Use the manufacturer's fitment guide. It's an easy-to-use paper cutout. etrailer's fitment tool chose the wrong part.
The instructions, well!! lack a bit of detail. My first instinct was to return them . I called the manufactures tech line ,and got the 10-36 asap.
........ after that the install was a breeze !!
I am in the opinion these helper springs will stiffen the rear coil enough to balance a heavier tongue or small trailer weight.

Do these work well towing a 2200 lb work trailer hauling a moderate load with a 03 tahoe
Pretty easy install, except for the indignity of lying on the ground to prove your fealty to the automobile. Soap def helped. Will see after my 2k adventure if it helps.

Continue to be pleased with the SumoSprings on our 2005 Subaru Outback. The alternative was to spend $800 for new heavy duty rear struts. They work well to prevent bottoming out when towing a camper and dont seem to effect the overall ride quality when not towing a trailer.
