How to Determine Correct Grease Seals for Trailer

Question:

I have a 1997 Bearcat snowmobile trailer. It is aluminum, single axle, two-place with a cover. I need axle seals.

I can help you out with figuring how to determine what seals you need for your trailer, though it will require some measuring as we don't have any way of knowing exactly what seals are going to work on your 1997 Bearcat trailer.

It's pretty easy though, as you just need to use digital caliper and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the seal rides; you can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure.

For example, if you measured your spindle and got a diameter of 1.719 inches you would need the Grease Seal # 58846.

Or if the diameter was 1.249 inches you would need the Grease Seal # 34823.
