On a boat trailer that was converted to electric brakes, how are the brakes applied if the trailer breaks away from the tow vehicle ? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

On a boat trailer with electric brakes you will use a breakaway kit. If you don't already have one, I recommend the Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit with Built-In Battery Charger - Top Load # 20400 which you will want to mount above the level you will immerse the trailer, This plug with cable will pull the plug when the trailer disconnects will then allow the backup battery to apply power to the electric trailer brakes.
