What is Strut Compressed Legnth of the Taylor Made # 3691824-60

Is the strut 12inch long compressed or extended? I really need both lengths to order the correct one.

The Taylor Made # 3691824-60 strut is 12" from ball mount to ball mount uncompressed, and 8-1/4" compressed . The overall legnth compressed is 8-7/8".
