Question:

Im looking for a hitch to install on my 2025 Rav4 Hybrid that can be used for cargo hitch racks and be used later if I decide to buy a small / light trailer. I would also prefer to not drill into the bumper. My Rav4 is the Woodland model and has an Activity hitch right now. I dont anticipate needing to carry more than 100 pounds of cargo right now. I was looking at this as one option: EH97FR Can you give me a recommendation of what might be the best fit? Thank you!

Hello Tessa, thanks for reaching out. Those 2025 RAV4s are super nice. My mom actually just got one a few days ago and we will be putting a hitch on it next week.

The EcoHitch # EH97FR is actually a great choice for the 2025 RAV4. It has the highest rated tongue weight capacity of any hitch for this vehicle at 750 lbs. Plus the EcoHitch has a stainless steel receiver, so much better rust resistance compared to other hitches. The 2" receiver is standard and will work with virtually any cargo carrier like the Benton Basic Hitch # B42FR or any ball mount attachment for a 2" hitch.

It will be a bolt on installation with some minor bumper trimming required. Also keep in mind the hitch has the potential to interfere with the hands-free liftgate sensor. That functionality will be limited or possibly lost after installing the hitch.
