Replacement Female Propane Quick Disconnect Port on Trailer

Updated 10/27/2020 | Published 10/22/2020

Question:

The female quick disconnects on my Coleman tent trailer low pressure system are very difficult to the male end quick disconnect into and have the female end snap closed. Trailer is twenty years old Is there any type of lubricant that can be used on these low pressure propane connections? I use silicone grease on my house water line hose quick disconnects to help. But not sure if any type of grease is safe to use on propane connections. Any advice would be appreciated. PS. do you sell female quick disconnects for low pressure propane? I did see a male listed

Expert Reply:

In order to replace the propane quick disconnect fittings I recommend the MB Sturgis Quick Disconnect Kit for Low Pressure Appliances part # 104052-401132 which comes with both male and female but we do offer just the female as the MB Sturgis Quick Disconnect Propane Connector part # 104052-MBS.

Please note, quick disconnect fittings wear out over time and become more difficult to use so replacement is best but I can't recommend any sort of grease.
