Can Equal-i-zer 16,000 lb Weight Distribution Hitch be Used With 2 Inch Shank
Updated 10/23/2020 | Published 10/21/2020 >
Question:
I would like to purchase the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 16,000 lbs GTW, 1,600 lbs TW. The problem is that it comes with a 2 1/2 shank and my truck uses a 2 inch receiver. I own a 2001 Chevy silverado 2500hd duramax 4x4. My question is, is there a shank that i can purchase with a 2 inch shank that i could pair up with the Equalizer? I currently have a 10,000 e2 but fastway said that even though my current shank would work, it would be a weak link in the overall set up. Thank you in advance.

I reached out to Equal-i-zer who said a 2 inch shank is compatible with the 16,000 lbs towing/1,600 lbs tongue weight Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System with 4-Point Sway Control # EQ64FR.
For a 2 inch shank with a a 16,000 lb towing/1,600 lb tongue weight capacity, what you will need is the Reese Weight Distribution Shank # RP54998.
This shank will give you up to a 8-5/8" rise or 2" drop with this Equal-i-zer system.
