Is Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System EQ37140ET A Good Choice For 2018 Outdoor RVRKS?

Updated 12/30/2025 | Published 12/23/2025

Question:

Good morning. I have a 2018 GMC three-quarter ton diesel that I am using to pull a 2018 outdoor RV 24RKS gross vehicle weight of 9996. I have just added Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 14,000 lbs GTW, 1,400 lbs TW to my cart and I’m wondering if you think this is a good choice for that truck in that trailer. Thanks for your help.

Hello Gary, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the 14K Equal-i-zer system part # EQ37140ET is absolutely a good choice for your trailer. This will work great on trailers with a tongue weight between 1,000 and 1,400 lbs. So, the main thing to consider is the loaded tongue weight of your trailer. This typically comes in at about 15% of the total weight. I doubt you will be loading the trailer to the full GVWR but even if you are way under like 7,000-8,000 lbs, your tongue weight will still be right with that range. This means you will get good results so your ride will be more level and sway will be noticeably reduced. The Equal-i-zer systems are known for being top-tier and top performers so it definitely comes highly recommended.

Please note the frame brackets for this WD hitch must be placed between 27" and 32" back from the center of the hitch ball. Please make sure there is open space on your trailer tongue for the brackets. As long as you have room, you can be sure the # EQ37140ET system will fit and work great.

I have a similar set up F350 and a 24’ bumper pull car hauler A friend recommended this hitch because I had trailer sway and whip This hitch settled her right down Make sure you read the set up and install directions carefully the first set up took me 1/2 a day to set up but after that it’s easy and quick I had to order a different trailer bracket than the kit provided because my aluminum trailer frame was 2x7 tubing and the standard kit bracket wouldn’t fit my trailer They had the right one on stock and sent it to me quickly It’s a bit of a thing to set up the first time but well worth it and the best on the market in my opinion

@FrankB Awesome thanks for sharing your experience, Frank! Great to hear the Equal-i-zer WD hitch is working out. The first setup is always the hardest especially when you have to adjust the pitch on the head and whatnot. Can definitely take some trial and error. Sounds like you got it done and dialed in perfectly. Thanks again for the feedback!
