How To Confirm Fit of Electric Trailer Brake Kit AKEBRK-7-SA On Old Utility Trailer with 5-Spoke Hub
Updated 10/12/2020 | Published 10/08/2020 >
Question:
So I have a very old style equipment trailer that was hand built. It has the old style 5 Spoke Utility Hubs and the diameter of the axle is 3 inches. One of the axles has electric brakes but they have long since stopped working and have metal rotted. On the moving parts. Would this work as a replacement for what I had? I’ve included a picture to show you what I’m dealing with. Thanks!

In order to confirm compatibility of the Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-7-SA on an older trailer you'd need to measure the brake mounting flange bolt pattern and compare this to the photo below. The overall diameter of the inside of the hub where the shoes ride will also need to be 12" x 2".
