Brake Lights on 2002 Chevy Silverado Not Working After Installing Hopkins Trailer Brake Controller

the brake lights on the truck stopped working after hooking up the agility brake controller,the trailer brake lights work and the third brake light works but not the truck.used the hopkins plug since the truck has tow package, the lights worked for awhile then went out,checked bulbs and fuses both good.

It sounds like the harness # HM47795 could be pinned wrong for a 2002 Chevy Silverado. The red wire on the harness comes uninstalled and you have to make sure it is in the right place. If not, it can cause all sorts of strange issues. I have included a picture that shows how it is supposed to be wired for a 2002. I have also linked the instructions that show the different configurations. Make sure that the end of the entire plug that plugs into the vehicle is in the second port from the left on the top row and not plugged in anywhere else.
