Question:

Any chance theres a way to get this part without purchasing the entire Easy Snap Hardware Bag Model #05820 labeled D in attached photo available on Thules website? It just doesnt seem worth putting $116 into this carrier, but I hate to send it to the landfill. Any advice or referrals would be greatly appreciated!

We may have something you can use. Though we do not carry spare parts for the Thule Evolution specifically, you might be able to use the Thule Replacement U-Bolt for the Sidekick Cargo Box, part # TH02943. It's about 4 inches wide and 1-5/8 to 2-1/2 inches deep. You might need to drill new holes into the cargo box to fit the new bolt.

This U-Bolt is part of the Thule Replacement Hardware Kit for Sears Boxes, part # TH05603. This kit was designed to provide spare mounting parts for the Sears Cargo Boxes that Thule made. Fortunately, it's been proven to work with quite a large number of other, older cargo boxes, specifically ones made by Thule. I've included a link to a video review for this kit.

This kit (and therefore the U-Bolt) has not been confirmed to work with your specific cargo box, but since it's worked on so many other models, it might work on yours.
