We have just what you're looking for. If you don't already have a 4 way plug on your 2020 Toyota Highlander, you'll need to start by installing one, since those provide the base connections needed to install a 7 way. For the 4 way plug you'll want to use the Curt # C76CR, which will tee into your driver and passenger side tail lights.
If you've already got the 4 way connector, you'll just need the 7 way which can be installed using the # ETBC7. The ETBC7 will plug into the 4 way and once you've made connections for the ground, 12v power and the reverse light circuit or auxiliary 12v power source, you'll have a working 7 way.
The ETBC7 is designed to work with wireless brake controllers like the Curt Echo Mobile # C51180, since they don't require any wiring to be run into the cabin of the vehicle. This is an ideal setup for vehicles that don't come with a vehicle adapter plug for a brake controller, and would be the easiest setup to install. The Curt Echo is controlled by your smart phone (iOS 8.0 or newer/Android 4.4 or newer are required) and provides you with proportional braking for your trailer.
