Question:
If you have electric bikes is there a way to secure the bikes with a lock to prevent theft
asked by: John C
Expert Reply:
To lock your bikes when using the Bike Rack Adapter for Stromberg Carlson Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier # CC-125, the best thing you can do to prevent theft is use a cable lock. You can thread these locks around the hitch receiver, through the mesh floor of the cargo carrier, or wherever is the most convenient.
For cable locks I recommend the etrailer 10' Long Cable Lock # e98891 or RockyMounts Hooligan Chain Lock # RKY3802.
If you do it through the mesh floor of the Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier # CC-100 you will also want to be sure to lock the carrier to your hitch with the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232.
I have added links to video reviews for you to check out of the locks, as well as of the Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier # CC-100 and the Bike Rack Adapter # CC-125.
