Is There a Required Handle Thickness for the Stainless Steel Hasp PLR158-102-SS

Question:
How wide and thick are bar handles that fit in this latch? Most seem to be 1 1/4inch wide, but how thick are they? I want to use these to replace aluminum units that can be easily cut or pried.

Expert Reply:
The Stainless Steel Hasp part # PLR158-102-SS works with most standard 1-1/4" wide handles. I did check with the manufacturer but they do not call out a specific handle thickness nor do any of the other hasp manufacturers. I can however confirm the Stainless Steel Handle Assembly part # PLR158-100-SS will fit and work well. It should be a standard size thickness for most handles so I really don't think there will be an issue.
