Question:

We have a 10,000 pound hitch set up with the 1,000 pound bars. Can we purchase just bars that are a step up in weight class with our current hitch assembly or does it require a new one?

The highest-rated round bar Fastway Weight Distribution Hitch is the 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW # FA94-00-1000.

The system has 1,200 lb rated trunnion bars, but because these use a different head unit, this does require a new set up, the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion # FA92-00-1200.

This is a 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW system, and the trunnion bars are going to be an improvement over the round bars because they do not hang as low, giving you better ground clearance, and because they are much easier to install. I have added a link to a video review as well.
