Question:
Hello, I have installed LEDs on all my exterior lights for my XJ. Im having back feed issues between my turn signals and brake lights. This only occurs when I have the OEM towing harness installed. Seems the design was 2 relays, 1 left, 1 Right that will use either the brake or turn signal lead as a ground, when the other function is activated. Of course this does not work well with LED lights as they are diodes themselves. What Im proposing is to use the inputs on the RM790 to combine inputs to the relay and then ground the other side. The brake would be on one input and the turn on the other. I would be using 1 RM 790 per side. Would there be any bleed or back feed between the turn and brake inputs?

From what it sounds like you are trying to take your 2001 Jeep Cherokee's separate brake and turn signals and combine them into one. If that's accurate, what will need instead of the diodes is a 3-to-2 converter, the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Wiring Converter # RM-732.
I have added a link to a video review and manual for you to check out of this part.
