Question:
What is the best hub assembly for my boat trailer? Picture attached
asked by: Kristoffer E
Expert Reply:
Since you have a boat trailer you're going to want to use a galvanized idler hub assembly like part # AKIHUB-545-35-G-K which is for a standard spindle or part # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K which is the same thing just with a dust cap for an EZ Lube spindle.
To confirm that this will fit your boat trailer you're going to want to pull a hub and check your bearing and seal numbers. These hubs have an # L68149 inner bearing, an # L44649 bearing, and a # 58846 grease seal which has a 1.719" inner diameter.
If you aren't able to confirm bearing and seal numbers then you can use a digital caliper and measure where the bearings and seal rides on your spindle (see attached).
