Question:
Chevy Equinox flat towed requires ignition to accessory, but motor not running while towed. Current draw minimized by all user electronics radio, AC, headlights, LED screen, etc turned off. I can usually tow 3-4 hours, but sometimes car battery ends up dead. Can this Solar Charger be used to help INCREASE tow time? OR at very least, is there any reason not to install and use this while car is in accessory and being towed? i.e.: potential risk to Equinox electrical system? Would it matter if installed with clips to battery vs cigarette lighter? Naturally, RV trip imminent and quick answer would be appreciated so I have time to order . . . Thx!

We have an easier and more efficient way to charge the battery of your Equinox when it's being flat towed with the part # RM-156-75 which runs from the 12 volt accessory circuit of your tow vehicle to the battery of your towed vehicle. Now if your tow vehicle does not have this circuit active we can help with that too with part # RM-156-25. The solar panel kit part # PTW2997 would slow the discharge of you battery somewhat but it would also be awkward to mount on your vehicle and wouldn't be consistent since direct sunlight isn't always present.
